Speak to My Heart

Waiting on a word from the Lord is not an easy task. In the past few weeks I have had conversations with several friends/family members who are patiently waiting on a word from the Lord regarding their lives. Last night, after I got off the phone with a certain someone ,I had a heavy heart. While I just wanted to stop what I was doing and pray, I had to tend to the needs of my babies, etc. etc. etc. One thing lead to another, and I finally slipped into the shower still with a burden in my heart. Of all places to be an old but favorite song filled my head: Speak to My Heart (by Donnie McClurkin). So, I started to sing away while thinking of different situations and prayer requests. Today, the song is still in my heart. Since I have not heard it in many years , I decided to go to You Tube to find it. (The last time I heard a choir sing it was the heavenly Merced Choir, and nobody sings it like them. They are pure awesome!) While I am typing this post I am listening to the song for the 10th time!

The lyrics are as follows:

Speak to my heart Holy Spirit, Give me the words that will bring new life Words on the wings of the morning the dark nights will fade away, if you speak to my heart

Speak to my heart Holy Spirit, message of love to encourage me
Lifting my heart from despair, How you love me and care for me Lord just speak to my heart

Speak to my heart Lord, give me your holy word, If I can hear from you, then I’ll know what to do I won't go alone, I’ll never go on my own, Just let your Spirit guide, and let you word abide

To those of you who are waiting for your word tonight, here's something to encourage you:

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Isaiah 41: 13 For I the Lord thy God will hold they right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee

While it's not always easy to wait on the Lord, I pray that God would give you peace through the storm. Love you.

(Note: Even though this post does not pertain to the pic of the Hubbs and I, I thought I would post it anyhow because it's nice to have pics with a post.)

I love that song... God's timing is not always, in human opinion, the 'right' timing, but the truth of it is, it's the 'perfect timing'... Good post and thanks for the reminder.
