HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

My energy level is quickly fading, otherwise I would have pictures to post from our gathering last night and from church on Sunday night.

Our end of the year service Sunday night was complete with communion and a deep move of God. I can't say enough how much I appreciate our pastor, Jonathan Shoemake, and his vision for our church. For the First Church of San Jose, 2007 was the year of "Blessing" and the theme for 2008 is "Breakthrough." Really, I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us. By the end of the year our bus ministry reached a grand total of 76 children! We doubled our number in baptisms from 2006 and we are looking for a much higher goal this year. It's an exciting time at the First Church. If you are in the area, please feel free to stop by. It's a life-changing experience!

Our commitment services are coming up on January 13th. I am also anticipating a large number of ladies to sign up for nursery ministry this year (wink wink)!

Since Sam was in no condition to leave the house, the Wests, the Martinez, the Prados, Kellee H., The Bellas, Brandon and Lisa joined us to help us ring in the new year. We had a TON of delicious food. I especially appreciate the fellowship. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to go into labor! Thank you all to making our New Year's eve so much fun.

Love the word "Breakthrough" - I am sure in God's mind it has a lot deeper meaning than we mortals can even comprehend. Wishing you Blessings, Miracles and Wonders this new year.

His name will NEVER be Elliot nor Luke. (Abdul was a joke) My choice is Zion.

Hey Girl! First of all, I somehow forgot you were preggo, 2nd of all I AM SO EXCITED for you! I read your post about your big brother worries (as far as Ethan and you adjusting to your newest addition) and I just have to tell you, he will be fine! I never realized just how much I was treating Jace like a baby until Sydney was born! Now they get along wonderful! And I wouldn't change a thing!!!! I am sorry to hear about Sam - hopefully he gets back to the norm quick! (I have a herniated disc also, but I am a little scared of the surgery right now....Have to work up the courage!!!) Anyhow, Love ya! Happy New Year!
ps... Zion is a cute name! Ethan and Zion! (: I like it

Yvonne,
Thanks for comments! I appreciate your reassurance on Ethan getting adjusted to another little one in the house. It always feels better hearing it from a mom who knows what she is talking about!

Sorry to hear about your back. The surgery is not successful for everyone - try NOT to do it unless you absolutely have to.

Hopefully, we will see you at No Limits. If not, I will be sure to keep in touch through blog world!

Kellee - I am glad you like Eggbert! LOL Sam actually set up this whole poll thing and he added Abdul, Eggbert and Hey You. Isn't it just like him to do something so silly?!

Leah, I like Elliot too. I don't think Sam will let me have my way even though I let him have his when we named Ethan. I think something is not fair here, don't you?

Hey, I got to thinking about something. Sam is right that it can't be "Luke." Jon Paul Luke sounds like a kid trying to quote the books of the Bible. LOL

Bottom line - you both should be happy with the choice of name. Brian and I agreed 100% on the names of our kids. Once it is agreed, don't let anyone dissuade you. Everyone will get to used to whatever name you select.

We had people tell us they didn't like the name "Bryce" and now they love it. Go with your best feelings!

Hi Monica,

I had no idea you had a blog. I just happened to stumble upon your blog from another blog I was visiting. We saw your husband not too long at the section 10 youth lock-in. I had no idea that Sam was into photography. I've been to his website, and I must say that he takes fabulous pictures! Jen says she wants him to take her graduation pictures next year. (Ooh, I hate to think about her graduating. My baby is grown up!)Anyhow, just wanted to say hello and I will be back again.

God bless

Sis. Allard,
Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks a bunch for your advice! I completely agree with you.

Sis. Connell,
It's good to hear from you! Thanks for the compliments on Sam's pictures. I can't believe Jen is growing up so quickly either! Sam showed me the pics from the Section 10 lock-in and I almost did not recognize her. She is so beautiful, but so grown up! I will make a note of your blog - it's a great way to keep in touch!
